Gnomes and Gork
By Pamarty Venkataramana
When a giant turns into a little gnome, the story of Gulliver in Lilliput-land pops out of the recesses of mind to everyone who is enamoured by a besotted, unversed general public that feeds on the canvas of X’s Gork (who unlike a Gorkha, never uses physical muscle powress but is reflection of an automated machine-type learning based on what has been fed by all and sundry holding access to a smart-phone or some other gadget which has usurped the life of mankind drawing humanity to the crevice of self- destruction and total annihilation of civilization).
Whew!
Wasn’t that a mouthful?
Exactly the case when a certain citizen elevated to the seat of highest judicial body, an avowed temple of justice, by the Supreme Constitutional Authority, viz, H.E. The President of India after an oath of office is administered by said First Citizen of a sovereign, democratic People’s Republic, stretches the nib of pen writing a judgment to audaciously dare to direct H.E.The President of India to perform a certain administrative act in a given time- frame.
The irony hits hard on us when we realize that the apex court itself is bogged by millions of long-pending cases which aren’t necessarily meriting attention on principles of law : it cannot control the burgeoning litigation nor even control the lower courts in hierarchy of the Judicial-rungs to dispose of long-outstanding, pending case files that are playing havoc with the lives of countless, hapless citizens wasting lifetime running around court halls, advocates and even of financiers who reportedly lend monies to fight litigation.
So,who is to blame? Is it the bureaucracy which is hidden behind iron-curtains or an inept political class or the immunity-bestowed highbrows of judiciary?
@gork is an AI-driven machine but surely Honourable Supreme Court of India is filled with learned, unbiased sagacious Judges (Lordships) presiding over the negativity of society.
But, by no stretch of imagination or wide(wilder) interpretation of the Constitution can this veritable wing of society seek to surpass the Supreme powers of H.E.The President of India.
Be it known to all members of the general public that it remains the sole discretion and wisdom of the President of India to or not to accord assent to any Bill passed by acts of Parliament (this includes the time frame in which such an assent may be accorded).
This of course is a considered, humble opinion of one exercising freedom of opinion on a burning issue( just as any other leader of opposition might claim to be possessing and without prejudice towards even the Lordships who are stated to have so said as an obiter dicta in some recent ruling).
Satymeva Jayate!
