NAMO – Branding A Nation

I speak for our Prime Minister. Without his knowledge or consent. For and on behalf of my fellow countrymen – a class of world citizens who toil day in and day out, to watch the world spinning on it’s axis . As orderly as a fixed orbit in unknown space can be. And, of lives inestimable. As well as infinitely precious but most uncertain.

India is an ancient society. All Humanity respects the personal values,cultural traditions and human resources identified with arguably the most ancient civilised society on Earth!

In recent centuries, if there were one single river valley civilisation that has seen a decadence of unbelievable proportions, it has been the Indian Society. Polity and geography underwent a tremendously drastic transformation in recent eras – through the Moghul invasion to European conquerors subjugating the mainland to all hundreds of smaller Princely States uniting to firm the Republic of India despite the dark spot of division of the Indian sub-continent into other smaller countries by the departing colonialists. Then arrived the age of a people’s Republic which has since 1947 witnessed many political equations as well as coalition-parties attempting to govern the plural society which till date ,does not enjoy an uniform Civil Code or a 100% literacy -rate.

And yes, of course, after a seemingly endless spate of Scam-tainted double-term of a Congress party led UPA reign came the NAMo-led BJP Government which enjoys the enviable record status of toppling Giants so much so that no single opposition-party could match up to becoming eligible for declaration as the ‘leader of opposition’ in the Lok Sabha!

The six-plus months old NAMO Government of India has seen a Prime Minister rubbing shoulders with World-leaders from around the Globe ,with a zeal and enthusiasm little witnessed from any newly-elected Head of State, since the United Nations Organisation was formed.

This had drawn flak from skeptic critics who have indulged themselves in dubbing NAMO as a ‘non-resident Prime Minister’ for one thing. But, why has he embarked upon this mission to reshape Indian Diplomacy and restore lost stature of India in the comity of Nations?

This is the all-important question sought to be answered by this essayist.

NAMO’s foreign trips are aimed at fostering a better understanding of India among all Nations of the contemporary world. Before the thumping victory at the general elections, NAMo spoke to the people of the Nation. Post-polls, he had to begin to speak to people of all Nations. So that they may understand without mistake the purpose of any action we might be required to take against any rogue – country, terrorist-outfits or anti-national forces in the immediate future. Deliberate , unprovoked attacks in northernmost State of Jammu & Kashmir have been ably repelled by our armed forces. Hostile State-actors and their supporting non-State actors/ facilities have been identified. No more do enemies expect silence from our gunners in face of unprovoked firing across our porous borders. Appropriate armed action has been taken against them.

It is high time that the NAMO-Government obtain permission from Parliament of India that this issue of unwarranted assault and firing by neighbouring country be brought immediately and urgently before the Security Council of the United Nations. How else can credibility and eligibility of a Nation vying for a place in the Security Council be established if it cannot muster courage and political will to drag the long pending war to enemy camp via the World’s conscience-keeper, U.N.O. ?

I welcome as does our beloved Prime Minister and we invite the scrutiny of all men who seek Peace , for Peace is the only purpose of the course which India pursues,under NAMO.

Siachen may be distant from Kanyakumari but what happens in guise of local tiffs but is in fact a set political agenda of alien outfits operating from foreign shores through aegis of local handlers and desi moles patronised by selfish politicians occupying few high offices is visible to every discerning mind and one cannot be detached about what has been happening there.

That aggression unchallenged is aggression unleashed is an age-old truth of Statecraft. But, it is crucial for one and all sovereign nations to honour the international agreements which apply in the various zones of the Globe. For long, we have exercised utmost restraint bordering on inability ,inaction and arguably ineptitude in face of provocation, transgression and even fatal attacks inland by external elements out to destroy the national fabric of this supergiant of EurAsia-Pacific continent.

Even as NAMo government too adheres to the time-tested policy of the Government of India to repeatedly work at resolving any perceived border-differences peacefully, yet it is of paramount importance that such countries leave India alone. We devote our talents and resources to bettering the lives of our people – working against poverty,disease and illiteracy.

A certain Government finding itself on shaky roots of a fragile democracy and yet another, a behemoth itself reeling under extreme opposites of affluent few & a vastly poor majority of nationals, are wilfully and systematically violating the international principles of peace, non-violence & Panchasheel being followed by India . Net result, an escalation of tensions – aimed at a continued engagement in transgression of Indian right to peaceful development .

But, it is high time that we discipline the foes of peace and humanity.

There can be and there must be no doubt about the policy and snout the purpose of any personal visits being made by our Prime Minister, NAMO to lands far and near. It takes a man who fought grave allegations with great fortitude to remind other leaders of the responsibilities of men and responsibilities of nations that are devoted to peace. World peace cannot be assured merely by assuring the safety of Big Brother’s Flagship or that of other vessels of other flags from attacks by pirates on the high seas! The world is watching the challenged Indian Lion make it’s will against war known and to make it known clearly. And,to make it felt and to make it felt decisively.

NAMo is clear and loud in the message he carries to allies and adversaries alike : let no friend needlessly fear & no foe vainly hope – that India is a Nation divided in ranks or religion ,after his thumping victory against the old dame of Indian Politics,the Indian National Congress. Our free elections as well as the ability to form coalition Governments are reflections of our true freedom : the overwhelming support enjoyed by NAMO has further revealed the freedom of thought,expression and will of we,the people of India.

India is one nation United, indivisible and shining. There is hardly any society of the globe which can function devoid of human resources from Our India.

There are no parties and there is no partnership when our peace or the peace of the world is imperilled by aggressors in any part of the world . Humanity should be united and indivisible.

How ?

Before proceeding to answer this moot question facing the world today, let me address a common place criticism being heaped on NAMO for his haute couture, power dressing style ever since becoming the Prime Minister: to this , we must not grudge his need to be the First Ambassador of our Nation. Closer home, I had invited a few clients (then sitting) Members of Parliament for a luncheon treat and also invited a few rustic villagers (also clients) on the same occasion of ‘annasantharpan‘ after the ten days of Dasshera festival. As it happens, a few beggars from the temple-site (all clothed after a clean bath and decked in poor man’s garb being poor and as they could not afford better clothes)! On seeing, a local M.P, who was originally a poor Muslim citizen but risen to heights of huge fortune ,empire and wealth, I got placed the plates full of Prasad before them and asked : without an exception, all of the rich and powerful Honourable politicians (leaders of society) led by the local Member of Parliament excused themselves one after the other and left on ‘urgent business ‘ .

Moral ? Nobody wishes to dine or mingle with even the neatest or the most honest of men if he is classified as a ‘ poor ‘ person. And,this way of the world holds good even for state of nations in a world enamoured by riches and gaudy showmanship of off-celluloid action,in real life..

To the doubting Thomases, let us recall a single instance in the world when a rich man, however lowly his or her origin of wealth or rise in public domain be, was shunned or avoided ?

India has forever been a rich society, wealthy in riches-material, spiritual as well as immeasurable. Those who had plundered the wealth of the Nation even whilst ruling it’s Republic had depicted us as a land of ‘paupers, fakirs & snake charmers’. This needs to be changed, as immediately as possible.

After all, even under the scenario of a plastic money-smitten world hit by worst recession in History, it was only the nature of Indians to hold their life savings in the form of gold and Jewellery which helped avoid the froth of the bubble!

Be that as it may, clothes make the man and a Nation’s Head of Government should but be clothed with the best of feathers of pride to restore the sense of ‘ culture ‘ and ‘ purchasing power ‘. All the more, in the era of ‘ make in India ‘ !

Next, coming to the actual question of ‘who wages war ?’, I would draw your kind attention to the historical truth that one single man’s jealousy of others egged on by unbridled sadistic ,possessed streak of yearning for absolute power, concentrated in his hands and Family led to the disintegration of a major chunk of Asian continent. Apart from resulting in unnecessary, avoidable regional conflicts in every passing decade after his successful ‘coup’ of sorts !

Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhai Patel and Mohammed Ali Jinnah were three bosom friends hailing from the same State of Gujarat : a little known fact of History of Indian freedom movement. They were focussed on a single agenda of ‘ freedom from the foreign yoke ‘ .

However, another gentleman , Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru had no liking for such threesome friends that were inseparable. He worked to a set program and soon oversaw the splitting if these three friends who were bonded as Siamese Twins would be . A Barrister like Jinnah who was good in his field and was the one that bailed out his popular friend, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi whenever the British rulers put him in jail was never a devout Muslim. He admittedly ate pork, drank wine as generously as his addiction sought and never recited even one if the six ‘kalmas’ from the Quraanshareef ! Sardar Patel, another able and erudite Lawyer, was more a statesman than one hankering after mass leadership. His Motherland was of greater importance for him than personal glory. Gandhiji was beholden to the Nehru Family that sponsored the needs of travelling for the cause of freedom and to spread his call for ‘quit India’ and ‘burn foreign goods’ across the great Indian continent !

So, Jawaharlal used all his legal expertise in carving and crafting a way to divide and split the threesome. Soon, he even got vetoed to be chosen the First Prime Minister of a divided new India.

In the same fashion as the whole Nation got divided into parts carving a West Pakistan and an East Pakistan (modern day Bangladesh), the future for wars among all the three new Nations too was laid down by or with the active, forcible participation by Jawaharlal Nehru. Seeds of animosity were fomented and germinated over the decades to soon turn into a perennial war cry from a weaker sibling-nation.

NAMO is the man of destiny .

Nehru had a tryst with the chair of power .

Nation had it’s tryst with independence and the resurgence of a cry for freedom and peaceful coexistence has begun with the emergence of NAMO as the most liked Prime Minister.

Peace in Asia is crucial for peace in Arabia ,Africa,Australia,Americas and rest of world. I know that you share with me the great admiration and pride that the Indian Electorate has exhibited in electing Narendrabhai Damodardas Modi-jee as the Prime Minister. Once freed of external threats of attack or war and after being rid of internal squabbles on imaginary philosophies of life,religion and aftermath of death, Indian Nation will sing his praises forever. We are in his debt, and in the years and generations and centuries to come,we will see the products of this great adventure . Perhaps, even the re-unification of divided lands and reunification of divided Families .

Thanks to NAMO trips overseas, Peace be restored in minds besotted by internal conflicts. May imaginary ghosts disappear once and for all times to come . Mismanagement must be wiped out . Corruption will be dead and gone forever.

A leader must know how to rule. He must know ,recognise and address the needs of the Nation’s masses . NAMO is more than a leader . The statesman knows that he is not just a man for the time-being but a man for all seasons; all times and all generations to come. He has been endowed with Grace of Almighty . So shall he erase the Nehruvian blunders to usher in the golden NAMO era of governance of India .

As a last word, even Congress did not lose out on account of it’s existence or election manifesto as such but purely on account of misdeeds and scams by every second Congress leader-male and female , at all rungs of administration and rungs of society. This must not be repeated by anyone entrusted with the NAMO – baton .

I dedicate this piece to all my countrymen and world leaders who reposed faith in NAMO who has brought in better understanding among all men.
