Modi The Master Politician and Statesman

There is no end to the political riddles Narendra Modi is throwing on to his political opponents. These puzzles have left political parties, over zealous media experts & intellectuals either mute or incoherent. Before they could find a way to come out with a solution of one political puzzle, they face another puzzle. His moves are surprising not only political pundits but countries like China. All are watching his every step with caution.

Modi started these maneuvering even before he took oath. He invited all SAARC heads to attend oath taking ceremony. Pakistan was caught in the web suddenly. Had Pakistan refused to attend the function, she would have been blamed for unnecessary political blunder while on the other hand she was not to gain anything by attending this function. The secular political parties, experts, intellectuals & media too were caught napping over this invitation.

On the very first day, Modi attended his office, he appointed SIT for tracking black money. This was a big blow to black money holders and to congress as well because it was congress which contested Supreme Court’s 2011 orders to form SIT. Congress could not react. Neither it was able to welcome the SIT not condemn its appointment. This SIT left them searching a path to escape from being caught in the cross fire.

The choice of Sushma Swaraj for External Affair & Arun Jaitley for FM is hall mark of Modi’s political thinking. He kept both arc rival pole apart with Rajnath Singh as wedge between them. This move left his rivals, in the party itself, as helpless spectators only.

Just after new government assumed its charge, Pakistan increased his cross border firing. China started intruding in India’s area more frequently & more deeply. This gave ammunition to dishearten opposition. They started making noise over so called incompetence of Modi government. Modi maintained silence so much so that people stated calling him another Manmohan Singh. obviously he was studying & observing the governance left by the previous government. These political pundits never knew what was to hit them in coming future. At this juncture, Modi rose to address parliament for the first time. His first address to parliament left no doubt in India’s mind that not only a very-very shrewd politician but a honest statesman has appeared in India’s horizon. By this time, political parties never knew that Modi would catch them in simple but most difficult political riddles.

In this backdrop, PM started visiting to Bhutan, Brazil and Nepal before Independence Day. His visits created unprecedented goodwill not only in general public but commercial circle too. The world started taking note of India through its newly elected PM Modi who was doing something new which was never tried before. During his Bhutan visit he created right positive impression that India would be in every thick-n-thin with its neighboring countries. Incidentally & significantly, this was the first string of the web; Modi was to weave around China’s neck in coming time.

During his Nepal visit, Nepal Maoist leader Prechanda, who on record condemned India’s tactics towards Nepal & tilled Nepal’s policy Pro-China, became Modi’s fan. Prachanda talked about more cooperation with India. This was the second string of the web; Modi is weaving around China’s neck.

During his Brazil, he connected very well to the commercial sides of BRICS countries. This visit was observed by the US, Japan & China very keenly. His success in addressing commercial side & offering innovative ideas became stepping stone for his successful US and Japan sojourn.

Red Ford address on Independence Day by PM Modi was stamped with hallmark of his sincerity, his vision & innovations by which he wants to take the nation forward. It was also the first glimpse of Modi’s political puzzles he was to throw to his political opponents to keep them busy day in day out. His all the ideas, right from “Make in India” to “Made in India” to moratorium to terrorism & Maoist activities, were well received by the nation. Though few weak voices tried to counter his views but India treated such opposition with the contempt they deserved.

After this. PM stared his Japan visit & connected with Japan PM and the public very well. Modi was not only able to get 35 Billion FDI but he won Japan’s heart and he was assured full cooperation in all the fields. This was the third string of the web around China’s neck.

Modi weaved his forth string before China Premier visit to India by sending President Pranab Da to Vietnam where India entered into important agreements much to the announce to China. Then Modi received China Premier XI Jinping in his home state & entertained him as never before without showing his anxiety for the proposed China’s FDI. Modi knew that China would drop its 100 Billion promised FDI to very low, but this did not forced Modi to compromise on India’s security, self-respect & its determination to strengthen relations with neighboring countries. The story of his US journey need not to be repeated here. Everyone knows how he was received by US President and how NRI there went mad for Modi.

On domestic front, Modi connected with general masses very well. Apart from many important steps to improve India’s economy and controlling ever rising prices, he started working on fundamentals. On Gandhi Jayanti, he launched “Swacch Bharat Abhiyan” by holding broom in his hand. He further invited 9 eminent personalities to carry this message forward. One of them was Shashi Tharoor, a important congress leader. This is such a move which is going to have long effect but nobody can criticize this programm. However some very foolish Congress leaders describe it as “photo opportunity” while doing nothing. I would not be surprised that one day Modi would bring Sonia & Rahul in the street to clean it by brooms.

The natural calamity in Jammu & Kashmir brought the human face of Modi before nation. His spontaneous gesture, cutting across political boundaries, left his opponent huffing & puffing. They, including top Congress leaders except its Chairperson & VP, praised Modi for his action to timely help to J&K.

In nut-shell, be ardent admirers or severe critics, no one, not even the Congress, can question the fact that he is focusing all his energy for creating a sound national blueprint to unleash the real power of India. Due to his efforts India’s power is getting visible in just six months. But we know that Modi is not going to rest till all the power, which lies dormant and untapped, employed to their full potential.
