It is with much consternation that this series on state of contemporary society is being penned.
As s first and foremost ill afflicting our society, let us deal with the startling and uncanny phenomenon of ‘Love Jihad’.
This is a scenario where persons of a certain desert originated religion entice, entrap and enlist females of different other religions with a view to get them to produce progeny of their genes and then either dump these womenfolk, sell them off to flesh traders or commit most heinous murders of gory proportions. This barbaric and inhuman trend does not take notice of the age of either the stalkers nor of the victims. As the nomenclature describes, this is purported to be a war waged in guise of love. The background score for this tragic play is undoubtedly those celluloid melodramas dished out onscreen with lilting tunes and meliflous lyrics crooned by those drunk with an obsession for it. Gullible poor girls as well as bored females hailing from wealthier families are filled via such tricks and skin shows belted out as bold numbers or movies. The fairer gender succumbs where there is no grounding into cultural ethos, self respect or dignity of their bodily forms.

LEnamoured by lure of easy or big money, a playboy lifestyle, smoking, drugs and alcoholic pursuits, those who were once dubbed to be gangster’s molls now proudly bandy about their tatooed lives, altered names and bohemian ways little knowing that they are akin to sacrificial lambs who are given a bath, adirned with fresh garlands and fed like a fatcat, before they are butchered to death. Dessicated by vultures in human form.. Precious life is destroyed.
But who exactly is responsible for this crime in society?
Is it just the trend setters? Or,is it the obes aping the lost flock?
Is Waywardness a way of life? Or,is it due to fallen societal mores?
Is it result of evil mindsets reigning supreme in the wake of a woke culture?
Is this heralding decline and fall of older customs where abstinence from alcohol, smoking and polygamy were considered to be virtues and not fashionable add-ons to aura of a groom or the bride?

Is this a wake up call for all who dread venereal diseases and other such outcomes of indisciplined habits be they in name of being elitist, fashionable or ‘small town folk growing Big’ in metropolitan cities?
Are fortune hunters the fortunate first citizens of a pluralistic society?
Is it pathetic to join the milleau or to oppose such cultivated friebdships which kead to a deep morass from which these female citizens do not find an escape route or a life of dignity in the aftermath of break ups and revelations of wolves in sheepskin and draculas in their flamboyant attire?
The learned cannot afford to turn a Nelson’s Eye to such untoward happenings in modern India.
Good Governance does not only mran keeping terrorists away from borders of the country: it more importantly includes and requires attention to be paid by enforcing adequate legislation to prevent immorality from creeping into homesteads either by way of stray judgments or corrupt policing. ‘Moral policing’ is an ambiguous term often misused just as the term ‘human rights’ is abused by guilty and delinquent elements of society who are opposed to orderliness and indulge in mischievous acts, disturbing peace of society.

Love jihad is a bane and it is both disgusting as also disturbing to encounter dozens of cases where predominantly orthodox Hindu,Sikh and Christian Girls are enticed into this shady racket with an agenda to destroy Civilisational values. DNA is upset. Peace is lost. More notably, valuable lives are lost even before they bud. All this must stop immediately.

The Films Division of the Government of India ought to make documentaries to be exhibited across schools, colleges and public places with a view to sensitise as well as sanitize vulnerable minds of parents as well as youths. Extraordinary times demand extraordinary laws and special composition of ‘ Sanatana Dharma ‘ which believes in ‘live and let live’ cannot be erased through such vicious plays as ‘love jihad’.

Can an uniform civil code usher in a new environment of equality, fear and respect for all beings or would genetic and other inculcated factors over-ride the provisions of Law?

Umpteen new posers spring up. Anyways,it is high time for a public debate on this burning issue that is worser than terror from across the borders of this great nation.

This is without malice towards law-abiding cotizenry. The monster stalking our society is real and not an illusion. Therefore, arise, awaken and stem the rot in our cultural ethos. Peaceful co-existence is what the Constitution of India aims at.
