Hunting The Hunters !

Planet Earth comprises of much more than the map of a modern world. Distinct flora & fauna apart,it has deep moorings in the evolution of mankind. Civilisation isn’t the be all and end all of all humanity. Jungles, mountain tops and deep ravines are home to a million other ‘Tribes’ of Homo sapiens and the Man Friday of Robinson Crusoe’s island can literally be dubbed to be one of the most erudite and ‘civilised’ of them all. A flower-girl may be groomed to turn out to be a lady of high class English language and mingle with the nobles on a dance-floor of the Queen’s own bastion-land.
And yet, tales umpteen galore of the anti-thesis to a modern globe where a much glorified United Nations Organisation presides over a county of nations; where war-mongering; nuclear armaments; spaceflights; international space missions; drones and climate control assume more importance for news-hungry wolves of mass-media and the ubiquitous social media platforms. In essence,’Dr.Johnson,I presume?’ becomes a dirge to medieval world history when explorers, adventurers and buccaneers of western world set out discovering much of our green planet Earth!
The incident of a foreigner who went astray on one of the many prohibited isles of the Andaman & Nicobar islands in the Indian Ocean territory being killed by the native tribes that inhabit that part of our world is not news to be either welcomed nor to be dismissed as akin to one of those strife-torn regions of Middle East such as Aleppo widely learnt to be infested with blood-spewing,blood-curdling terrorist-outfits!
Be it the aboriginal tribes down under in the continent of Australia or in the forests of Central America or Africa or the so-called indigenous tribes in mountainous territories of the Himalayas or be it the native Indian tribes of North America, they too are all human beings. Entitled to both personal as well as territorial-rights unique to their cultural-cauldrons and settlements that they inhabit!
Human rights are universal and applicable to all beings of the species of Homo sapiens. Jurisprudence too upholds the golden principle of ‘your right ends where my nose starts & my rights end where your nose begins!’ .
Thus, trespassing into the fence of a whitewashed, gated house of the head of State is as violative as a foreigner trespassing into habitat of the natives of that ‘forbidden’ island.
Forbidden isles?
Why?
Not many in the mainland of Indian sub-continent are aware of how a former President presided over an ambitious plan to enlist the support of local government under whose administrative jurisdiction the several islands of Andaman falls to ‘educate and civilise’ these inhabitants: the grandiose scheme had to be shelved when the team of anthropologists, educationists and bureaucrats beat a hasty retreat to save their skins. More startling was the fact that those ‘tribes’ had more ‘sense & sensibilities ‘ than civilised modern world even of the Western Hemisphere of Planet Earth!
The findings also established that mere clothing or lack of it does not keep a land advanced or primitive. Peace and Sovereignty depended more upon the behavioural ethics and mores of a society than upon a book of Constitution or electoral process through electronic voting machines,and the like!
Ever since that exercise over three decades ago,all attempts to ‘reform’ or ‘reach out’ to these ‘hostile’ tribes was abandoned. And,all lived in an unsigned treaty of ‘Peaceful co-existence’ from afar!
Until this most recent unsavoury incident.
Not much ado can be made out of this act of ‘nothing’ for these tribes are non-existent in the eyes of the U.N.O.and,it is only we,the modern,civilised lands divided and set apart by medieval colonists who are shackles by trade embargoes and war cries of big-brother countries.
A lesson?
Do away with meaningless world bodies which do nothing for the furtherance of peace on the planet excepting to pit one brother against another in a bid to accelerate sales of arms and ammunition. Self-aggrandisement is a cardinal sin as well as a criminal-offence as compared to an act of self-defence.
Predators predate the spirit of parochialism and crony-capitalism of self-avowed defenders of the human race.
Time-clocks haven’t reached a few pockets on Earth-and,blissfully so?!
Let all live and let live. But,within the confines of their own territory. Sovereignty is this!
