Voiceless in the City of Peace

Voiceless in the City of Peace

by Pamarty Venkataramana

Iconic irony that !

Hearts in conflict. Minds at unrest. Warring views. Clash of ideologies.

Mere submission or more of acceptance?

War mongers. Peace doves. Lambs flock together. Wolves shepherd all.

Premeditated. Compromised. Arraigned.

Quite an array!

Strife unlimited. Stress endless.

Parade of peacocking leaderships. West, East, Far East, Middle East, G-20, ASEAN, SAARC, BRIC, EEC, NATO, NaM. Many, many others…

To what end? At what costs? For whose sake?

Hypocrisy. Sycophancy. Deadlocks. Stalemates.

Veto? That negates all other collective thought!

As the whip back home on desi politics, do the veto weapon in the U.N.forum!

Democracy, apparently, is a misnomer.

Diplomats evasive as ever. Truth veiled always.

UN ought to have been a ‘society’ with bi-annual elections. Not be a martial body of Veto owners!

Hail Mother Earth!
