Are Farmers voiceless?

 Are Farmers voiceless?

Dear Prime Minister Modi Jee :

Namaste!

It is quite heartening to see the daily news of newer lives touched by your genuine, transparent, open hearted style of -‘good governance’ and sincerest efforts to usher in ‘Achey din ‘ for all Indians. We all thank you from the bottom of our heart and feel quite proud of you for salvaging the pride of all Indians, across the world, today!

There are hundreds of good deeds your Government has done beginning from day one of assuming the high office. Yet, the most glorious achievement has been the surplus-power scenario created by your singular efforts to link up the north grid and the southern grid besides the legitimate power exchanges set up. Not all beneficiaries seem to grasp this greatest feat. . .

Many more feathers in your cap. Each shines bright as the peacock feather on baby Sri Krishna’s headgear!

There are several structural changes needed to establish a Ramarajya we all dream of. A faulty system derailed, mauled and messed up by bad rulers of the last six decades has indeed rendered redundant crores of lives, and at least a few million households still go to sleep hungry or roofless in each region of our vast country.

I believe you are the one leader who can make a magical difference to all sections of our Nation. I wish you were having the freedom to enlist support of more and more non-politician class patriots to assist you in this mahayagya to build, develop and re engineer Bharatvarsh!

You have set the ball rolling with a much needed demonetization move that teaches all the need for remonetization as well as e-monetization of lifestyles and the economy.  Congratulations are well deserved indeed.

However, a more vital aspect is the higher ideal of resetting societal mores in our country. Even as a common civil code eludes and the much required GST-regime is delayed and a Women’s reservation bill relegated to the back-burner by August Houses of Parliament ,where your party enjoys an absolute majority and power to move policies, there cannot be a Nelson ‘s eye turned towards plight of most crying need to re engineer attitudes, behavioral aspects and everyday thought process of citizens of India.

Morality is a great shell of legality and legality is the mainstay of all good governance, of course…

I did my part by fighting through long, arduous court battles to save the Nizam treasures as a ‘national wealth’ for the country and battling vested interests that were out to siphon it all off to foreign sovereigns and mafia dons abroad. You may pledge it to the world bank to write away seven decades of national debt, if ever the need arises, God forbid…That is the monetary value of the dedicated result attained. There are several other such vaults lying at disposal of the Government of India, if only the head of state and head of government so will it to happen, in national interest. Am no politician and so, the politicians have garnered all the rewards including as central ministers and governors of states, etc… Mera Bharat Mahan !!!

Likewise, many, many doctors, teachers, software tech experts and engineers besides daily wage laborers ,etc. have devoted their energies, acumen and lives for the general good of the country. As have counties soldiers and social workers and genuine political workers at grassroot levels.

But, a most distressing factor has been the mishandling of farmers’ sector. Suicides continue unabated. Spurious seeds, loan sharks, adulterated fertilizers, unscientific methods of cultivation, small holdings, tillers betraying owners, and so on & so forth.

It is not sufficient if you give the farmers applications on smartphones. Thousands do not have the wherewithal to buy a smartphone, millions are illiterate or semi-literate, let alone be tech-savvy .. And, this little helps and guides them about the right crop to be grown in a given, certain part of the large country. So, what the farmers actually need is a Government of India agri -scientist to reach out in person across the length and breadth of the nation and advise, counsel on best crop suited to the particular, region, season, soil, farmer owning and cultivating the land.

It is a tremendous feat on your part to have stopped the unscientific hoarding / holding pattern of warehouses through the Food corporation and helps root out massive corruption that was a feature hitherto in movement of food grain supplies.

However, I humbly suggest that you must now drive our fellow countrymen towards a resetting of lost personal values which would enable rebuilding of our national character of kindness, compassion and familial bonding . Which of course, your much lauded -‘ Mann ki baat ‘ program is undertaking…

Been with this trend setter, please –

Let every urban dweller adopt a farmer’s family : starting from purchase of the seeds, fertilizers to education of the farmer’s child. On harvesting the crops, the farmer will return the investment support of the patron citizen.

Anybody may adopt any farmer. Ideally, preferably, from one’s own native village from where the patron citizen has migrated. This would have a twin-advantage of both farmer and patron knowing each other’s antecedents as well elimination of local Loan-sharks who drive them to commit suicides and destroying entire families and livelihoods. .

The concept does not entail any expenditure from the State budget either. Except, perhaps that you may goad upon your Finance Minister to provide an encouraging tax relief to such patrons who adopt a farmer . This is permissible under existing laws and does not require a long wait of your repeated victory at the 2019- general elections dear Sir! Insurance, etc. sectors enjoy similar tax reliefs. Farmer’s patrons may be accorded this simple privilege. For aiding and assisting the Honorable Government  of India,in it’s efforts at good governance and ‘Achey din’, for everybody.

A related urgent measure which may be undertaken is to build rubber dams across every ten kilometers stretch of the rivers of the country. Does not entail much high-technology but works as a great measure to ensure proper supply, storage, utilization of the natural resources besides provision of perennial irrigation.

A corollary can be to let private conglomerates build walkways along this whole stretch of countryside, on lines of beautification undertaken for Sabarmati, in Gujarat State. This helps circumvent any frustrated element ‘s opposition to linking of all major & minor rivers of India.

Please rest assured that every right thinking citizen of India stands by your vision for ‘ Achey din ‘ for our great motherland and it is up to your Government to rise over any Swot analysis which only considers strengths, weaknesses and qualities of colleagues in the union cabinet . For overall good. Of the farmers especially.

Yes please. One last word.

Just as capitalization of banks whose balance sheets are widely believed to be wires if fiction is addressed by Union budget , so also must a thirty over cent allocation be made for agriculture which has a pivotal role like defense budget ,in the forthcoming Union budget.

Like many others across the world, I too firmly of the opinion that only you can enforce these express needs of our nation.

Let your next ‘ man ki baat’ sow this universal brotherhood concept of ‘ patron of farmer’ concept among  all Indians.

Farmers are not strangers to governance. Government stands by them. Let urban dwellers support the Government by adopting a farmer’s family, of their choice . Not as a charity but as a tax saving, prestige enhancing ,life saving measure . Make it a national movement. Call it the ‘ dharma tax relief ‘ , if you will.

Vandey Mataram !

Jai hind!

Jai kisan !!!

Sincerely yours

PVR
