Dignity of Society
Are we an evolved society ? Do we recognise the existence of vices and weaknesses of men that man high offices as natural characteristics of a new -age – not as depravity but as frankness of behaviour?
Are candidates of the underworld outnumbering the natural leaders of the common man or the scholarly, learned class in an increasingly materialistic society ?
Are men of standing in the community indeed ones that typify Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde of the classical novel ? Are these women with painted lips and shining contact lenses in eyes indeed fairy -queens who mother the flock of straying citizens?
Are the constituencies wicked ones that eulogise evil monsters who roam around freely in guise of humans?
Are the manifestos which make no mention of clean streets,or pavements or buildings, of police protection or drinking water supply mere threads with which are lit the fires of hatred,suspicion and enmity amongst fellow-nationals?
Are questions of personal popularity,local pride and guild politics uppermost in minds of every leader of the affairs of the nation?
Are we municipal in mind-sets and not national ? The survival of strong sectional feeling despite decades of being part of one Republic displays the supremacy of parochial tendency over spirit of nationalism ?
Are men engaged of the same occupation – be it blacksmiths,fruit-vendors,butchers,fish-mongers,scavengers,priests, cap-sellers and the madams that peddle in easy virtue of mankind ,so closely-knit organisations who frown upon the entry of a non-member to the inner circle of governance ?
Are these leaders bent upon having their supporters tattoo the name of the leader on the flesh and skin of the led and on doors of their houses ? Are their side-kicks adding their own initials to these inscriptions in order to be immortalised ,if only for a term of the House of Parliament ?
Are we a society of culture where a lady of high position brags of having danced on the floor at a ball with one of the evil land-grabber son-in-law of a despot – and which is supposed to attest to the superiority in stature of both herself and the villain under discussion ?
Are we a less scrupulous or fastidious society than other democracies of the modern day world ?
The first purpose of a political system is to secure good governance . Are we anywhere on that path ?
Ponder …Act ,to set right the faults …pick the holes , full them….activate all scholarship with wisdom….banish the blues and the crooks…awaken the Spirit !
Regain lost dignity !

Sometimes we know the facts and we ignore the same(due to negative approach that its impossible to solve the same) but when it comes in front of your eyes in this manner, it gives a real shock and it strongly makes you think about that seriously.
